Andy Warhol (1928 – 1987) was an American artist, film director, and producer who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art.
“Being good in business is the most fascinating kind of art. Making money is art and working is art and good business is the best art.”
Warhol once quipped, “I’d asked around 10 or 15 people for suggestions. Finally one lady friend asked the right question, ‘Well, what do you love most?’ That’s how I started painting money.”
These quotes tell us less about Warhol’s real desire for success in business than it tells us about his eagerness always to move forward into virgin territory in art. In this case, by dressing it up as a business.
