He holds a record of 21 seasons with the same team – The Dallas Mavericks, in which he is the all-time statistical leader in games, points, rebounds, field goals, three-point field goals and free throws. He has made the NBA All-Star games 13 times and was voted NBA MVP after the 2006–07 NBA season, becoming the first European player to receive the honor.

What most people don’t know, is that he initially played handball and tennis, but soon grew tired of being called a "freak" for his height, and eventually turned to basketball.
