The character is painted on pieces of shredded comic books that have been collected from special archives, with editions dating as far back as 1941.

Although Captain America was introduced in comic book form decades before some of Marvel's more well-known characters, he was able to keep himself a vital superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Captain America occupies a unique place in the Marvel Universe. He's the hero that everyone loves and looks up to. While that's a lot of pressure, it's also what makes him so perfect as leader of the Avengers - he is the gold standard, the inspiration, the one everyone looks up to and listens to. It doesn't matter how powerful or highly placed a hero is, when Cap talks, everyone listens.
