Break on Through to the Other Side
Tel Aviv, December 2017
Acrylic on Canvas and melted crayon, [250cm x 100cm]
For years I felt like something is missing in my life. I was always surrounded with loving family and friends, I set my goals and completed them promptly, but there was something still missing.
Talking about feelings is not something I was used to. It was evident during my military service, when I was surrounded by my caring, yet highly sarcastic, teammates, but it was also there at my parents' house. Growing up surrounded by three competitive and successful brothers did not leave much room for demonstration of emotions or feelings.
In the last couple of years, I discovered that sharing my emotions and feelings does not necessarily mean revealing a weakness. Many times, it allows me to observe my experiences in color. Some of the colors are weak and undecided, some are strong and certain. I realized I found exactly what I was missing this whole time.
